Für die Portraits benötigte ich meist eine Sitzung von 3-4 Stunden. Meine Absicht war, möglichst unmittelbar einen Moment zu erfassen. Leitfragen: In welcher Verfassung treffe ich mein Gegenüber an? In welcher Verfassung begegne ich dem Modell?

Im Prozess des Malens stellt sich eine Verdichtung von meiner Wahrnehmung und der Präsenz des Gegenübers ein.

Vorwiegend handelte es sich um Personen, mit denen ich bereits in Beziehung stand. Innerhalb von drei Jahren sind rund 80 lebensgrosse Portraits entstanden.

Das Portrait-Malen ist eine Möglichkeit, sowohl eine Beziehung darzustellen als auch einen Dialog zu initiieren.
